The Florence MAPLab — Multisensory, Action & Perception Laboratory — investigates how perception, action, and multisensory processing are connected in the brain. Based at the University of Florence within the NEUROFARBA Department, the lab studies the sensory, neural, and cognitive mechanisms that allow humans and animal models to interpret the multisensory world, guide decisions, and support adaptive behavior.
Combining experimental psychology, psychophysics, neurophysiology, eye-tracking, and computational modeling, MAPLab addresses topics ranging from multisensory integration, visual perception, numerical cognition, action–perception links to neuro-aesthetics, brain plasticity, visual system development, and AI applications in neuroscience.
Our mission is to advance scientific knowledge through interdisciplinary research, innovation, collaboration, and the training of the next generation of researchers in perception, action, and multisensory neuroscience.
